Been a male is a matter of birth, but being a man is a matter of choice. It is a fact of life that one can be a male without being a man; a man without being a husband; a husband without being a father and a father without being a daddy.
The average African male is confused about what makes a male a real man. It is a widely held belief that a man, is blown by his sexual prowess, ability to dominate and beat up his wife, ability to provide and fend for his family and when lots of money and material success is on display. This warped view of being a man has led many males to be slaves to fear, feelings and failure. One can have all these and yet not be a. real man. Many males abound today but the real man is a scarce commodity.
The society today has placed so much pressure on the male. So many males are friendless emotionally unstable, confused over masculinity, success driven and spiritually searching. These pressures are making life unbearable for many males. Unfortunately, some churches only have men's fellowship. Just as the name sounds, it is only a fellowship. Issues that are daily confronting men are never or barely addressed. No wonder that many men in the Church males, not real man.
The Scripture has much to say about the man. He is the head of God's creation. God will not commit his great work to children and boys but a man amongst men. God is constantly searching for a man. John 1:6 says, “There was a man sent from God…” The man comes from the ministry. The ministry does not make the man; rather, it is the man that makes the ministry. That is why God is still searching for a man in the midst of males. The male must first be the real man before he can be a good minister in the ministry.
Today, there are scandals, breakup of families, problems in the church, suffering in the society simply because many male abound who are not real men. Being a man does not answer to age, class, status, position achievement, attainment and acquirement, but it answers choice, growth and maturity.
The times we are living in call for a man, not only a male. In war, males are nothing, the man is everything. One real man can bring change, turn around and positive lasting impact to the church, society and the world large. (11Chro.16:9). God is looking for a man of integrity, prayer, vision, power, wisdom courage, untainted by lust, fame and the corruptions of this life. He is looking for matured and courageous men; men on fire, dynamic, zealous, holy and anointed. Whenever God has found such man, His cause has always prospered. Today, God is searching for a real man in families, businesses, society, church and in the ministry. A real man is a man of honour and a man of honour is a real man. A real man is a man of:
1. Identity
2. Integrity
3. Intimacy and
4. Influence.
In our subsequent editions and seminars, we shall be expatiating on these issues.
Today, God is raising up Men Matters Ministry to focus on coaching and connecting real man. You must be part of this. Either you are a minister, business man, accountant, lawyer or a professional, once you are a male, you are warmly invited.
